Leaving at 1pm means arriving Merrijig around 4pm β enough time to check in, collect hire gear and have an early dinner together. Pack bags and load the car in the morning. Fill up petrol in Melbourne β fuel is more expensive in the high country. All 3 cars must have snow chains β GK is sorted, Aniket and Anish to confirm before departure. Each family has their own hotel booking β confirm check-in times with your respective hotels before leaving.

β οΈ Important β 9am lessons, depart by 7:15am
Ski lessons booked for 9:00am at Heli Flat near the ABOM chairlift β GK, Aniket and Elder Kid. Leave Merrijig by 7:15am to park, unload, and be at the lesson meeting point on time. Snow chains mandatory on all 3 cars β fit when directed by resort signage. Mountain is cashless β card only.
All suggestions have strong vegetarian options and work without alcohol. Asian and Indian cuisines prioritised β great for everyone. Mountain is cashless, so bring your card.

After arriving ~4pm, you'll want somewhere that fits 12 people, easy to get to, and has solid veg options.

You need to leave by 7:15am β either eat at your hotel or grab something quick in Mansfield on the way through.

Everything on the mountain is pricey β budget ~$25β35 per adult for a main. Go early (12pm) to beat the rush. Mountain is cashless.
π Drive home β Mansfield stop
After a long day on the mountain you'll be hungry again. Mansfield is 45 min from the gate β good spot to stop before the highway.
